This is the “front” of the Rhyolite casino, the side that faced the street. Yesterday we took a look at the casino from the south side, an image that showed the whole structure.
I am sure it was a popular place in the town’s heyday, as there wasn’t a lot of entertainment available in the small town out in the desert. Most people in those days worked so hard that it was all they could do to fall into bed at night after all the chores were done. Not like today’s world where people have a lot of time to fill with different forms of “entertainment.”
