RMC Zapper

RMC Zapper 4866 copyright small

In Indonesia, people lay on the railroad tracks. Why? Because they believe that the electric current that flows through the tracks can cure diseases. Is that railroad “zapping”? Well, sort of, I guess, but …

This is actually a vintage RMC Zapper, which is a spiker, a piece of railroad equipment that is an automatic spike driver. This one is in need of a little restoration work. It was probably owned by the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad.
